Addiction
Private, multiservice agency specializing in counselling, addiction services, and the facilitation of intensive, non-residential treatment programs. Addiction services include, but are not limited to, assessments, counselling, interventions, non-residential treatment, referrals, drug and alcohol education, court-mandated programs, and treatment provided to those charged with drinking and driving. Counselling services are provided for abuse, anger, anxiety, conflict resolution, concurrent disorders, depression, health issues, loss and grief, relationships, stress, and critical incident debriefing. Customized education and monitoring programs are available for employers. Also provides specialized drug and alcohol training for service providers encountering addiction in their workplace.
Treatment
There are many good residential treatment programs for addiction. They each require that individuals be sequestered (to varying degrees and for varying lengths of time) during treatment. In effect, these programs demand that individuals who are seeking to transform their lives must step "outside of the context of their lives" to bring about the changes they desire As a result, residential programs do not meet the treatment needs of each and every person.
Individuals undergoing nonresidential treatment are able to continue to live and work in their home communities supported by the care and encouragement of their families and friends during recovery. (In fact, we encourage family members and partners to participate in the treatment process.) Recovering individuals are further able to apply and practice their newly acquired life skills immediately in daily living situations.
