INTERVENTION / PREVENTION
Sometimes it is necessary to "intervene" in or confront individuals with addiction problems to create a crisis that leads them to face reality. Those family members, friends or employers concerned about an addicted person may engage Jackson-Murray to assist them in undertaking an intervention or in initiating a prevention process. Based on an initial consultation regarding the individual, a strategy will be developed, and the support group will meet with a Jackson-Murray counsellor to prepare. The counsellor will be on hand to facilitate the intervention process or to assist the group to initiate the prevention plan.

ASSESSMENT & REFERRAL
This comprehensive assessment and evaluation includes a review of personal and family histories, and a determination of issues and goals which will form the basis of a practical treatment plan. The process may be initiated by an individual or by their family, by an employer, union, health group or government agency, or as required under the U.S. Department of Transportion standards, for the purpose of treatment recommendations. Assessment and treatment recommendations may be forwarded to appropriate persons, where necessary. Clients may be referred to professionals for additional or specialized counselling where appropriate.

AFTER CARE COUNSELLING
For the addicted person in recovery, community support programs are an important part of the continuum of support that is necessary beyond structured treatment. As supplemental support, Jackson-Murray facilitates weekly group sessions that focus on specific issues in order to enhance recovery.

INDIVIDUAL SHORT TERM COUNSELLING
Jackson-Murray offers confidential, one to one counselling sessions geared to:

       * Addiction
       * Management of Stress, Grief, Pain, Depression and Anger
       * Critical Incident Debriefing

RELATIONSHIP COUNSELLING
From time to time couples or families may need to re-evaluate their relationships. This is especially true where communication becomes an issue. Jackson-Murray has developed an effective process for helping couples refocus their goals and energies toward mutual support and respect.
